    Commercial Director
    100,000 - 120,000
    South West
    Construction
    Permanent

We have been retained by a consultancy practice, FRC Consultants who are the UKs leading experts in façade safety, providing a full-cycle, complete solution to façade safety and compliance.

Based in Romsey (this role is based 1 or 2 days per week in the office), FRC employ 44 people, turning over around £12m in professional fees with this set to increase quite substantially in the next financial year.

FRC are an extremely entrepreneurial business, not scared of change and this person will need to be of like mind. They actively encourage their people to contribute new ideas and in this role in particular, a commercial mindset where you can spot deals and opportunities in the market, even beyond their current service offering, would be of great benefit.

They are looking to recruit a Commercial Director to manage a team of 15 (both direct and indirect reports) consisting of quantity surveyors, building surveyors and fire engineers to effectively act as lead consultant, having a key input on new business deals, negotiating fees, ensuring all contracts are formed correctly and driving projects forward from a programme perspective, ensuring key milestones are hit.

A large part will be understanding resource allocation, forecasting what will be required at certain points and what skills and experiences are needed in good time to allow projects to run smoothly.

Beyond this role, there are new offices in the pipeline that will be opening and there will be a variety of avenues that will open as the company expands not just it’s geographical footprint, but service lines as well – leveraging off their extensive list of existing relationships.

We are working with Cast Consultancy - a forward-thinking, progressive consultancy with an enviable client list including Argent, Landsec, Elysian and many others.

Cast were founded by Mark Farmer, government advisor on MMC (modern methods of construction) and we are looking to find a future leader in the business. Cast have 5 grades in their hierarchy with this will sit two steps from Director-level.

Whereas in some businesses you will never see the Partners or Directors, the leadership team are directly involved in every project, creating a collaborative working environment like no other, developing their team and directly rewarding those who perform. By example of what can be achieved, someone who joined as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor in 2016 is about to become a Director – evidencing a true meritocracy.

To ensure you are ready to achieve your ambitions, Cast have created a unique recipe that ensures you will be well prepared to successfully move up the ladder (if that is what you want to do). You pick where you want to get to and when you want to get there, and they will create a bespoke plan for you to achieve your goals along with the milestones and guidance needed to achieve your target. Outstanding work will be recognised and rewarded by the business owners with what they call 'real time recognition' - a monthly bonus in the form of financial reward, holidays or even concert tickets.

As a Senior Cost Consultant, you would be working with a collaborative team of 95 consultants where the Directors and owners of the business are actively involved at project level. So a rare opportunity to receive close mentoring on a day-to-day basis from those running the business and develop a well-rounded Director-ready skillset of technical excellence, client empathy and commercial acumen.

A generous market-leading salary and bonus is on offer along with flexible working and a relaxed "as appropriate" dress code.

    Senior Project Manager
    £70,000 - £80,000
    London

If you're working in Project Management in Construction & Property with a consultancy, you'll know what's involved - both the challenges and the rewards.

We are looking to add a 6th person to a team of 5 other project managers in RLFs London office over the next 3 years, develop them into some one capable of taking up a senior role within the PM team.

The business employ around 170 people - so a good size firm but not so large that you'll get lost in the background with most people working remotely 3 days of the week. You would have a major role to play in pushing the PM side to be their primary service offering - a new strategy to put them in line with the wider business, following a recent acquisition by an American firm, MGAC.

You'll know what a project manager does, but this role in particular will be focusing on the "front-end" of development - with a large focus on residential projects, namely the luxury, later-living market. That's not to say you won't ever be involved in the later RIBA stages or working on other sectors, but you'll need at least "some" exposure of RIBA stages 0 - 4.

If you're thinking what qualifications or accreditation you need, you'll need to be chartered through either the RICS, APM or CIOB.

With the company being fairly small but global, there will be plenty of opportunities to progress your career and get involved in projects both at home and overseas. A good package is also on offer with bonus you have every chance of achieving.

If this appeal to you, please get in touch with me at ashley@yorkstreet.co (just .co) for more info, or apply within.
